Apple is notorious for taking a ticking clock approach to adopting new technology within their offerings be it the iPhone, IPad, or iMac. This is particularly the case with the iPhone series of devices where Apple still chose to ship the iPhone 12 with their proprietary lighting charging port in a world where USB type C has achieved wide-scale market saturation.
