New Spiderman in the works for the PS5

Insomniac's Marvel's Spiderman was one of the greatest hits of the current console generation with sales figures coming in at 13.2 million copies sold. The game managed sales of 3.3 million copies sold within the first three days(and this includes bundled sales) of its release beating even God of War sales during that same period which stood at 3.1 million copies sold. This has made Marvel's Spiderman the second fastest-selling second party video game in Sony's history.

All that success has made it very likely that a sequel may be on its way sooner than you might think if the words of gaming industry insider Imran Khan are anything to go by. He is convinced that the new Spiderman will release sometime during the holiday season of 2021. He makes these claims during the Kinda Funny Game Podcast stating that "I already know too much about this so i cannot speculate too much " which suggest that he has some credible information in his possession.

This is very likely to be true as Insomniac did recently become part of Sony's World Wide Studio line up meaning that all of Insomniac Studio's new releases will be PlayStation exclusives this also means that they will receive greater support from Sony in general. Insomniac was also recently looking for game designers to aid in the development of a new game.

Thus far this remains speculation but everything is pointing towards it being true.
